Yes, exactly. I think people often don’t realize how important it can be to know how old someone’s kids are. But it can affect so many aspects of the dating relationship and the potential future the two parents might have. It’s the same reason I think it’s important to discuss whether you each want more children in one of the very early dates. If you’re both looking for something serious and long-term, but only one of you wants to have more children, it’s better to know early on and part as friends than for one or both of you to feel you’ve wasted time investing in this relationship only to have to end it.
