Wow, that’s high praise! Thank you!

I’ve been guilty of the same thing. In fact, the vast majority of my insights are the result of me looking back on my past relationships and being brutally honest with myself about what they were like. I wanted better relationships for myself going forward, and that meant looking back and seeing the truth so I could change it.

The biggest thing I’ve learned is that sometimes we are naturally givers and we have to stifle that instinct a bit. We need to step back a bit and wait for a partner to step up and show us that they can give as much as we can. Let them meet us where we are instead of trying to drag them up to where we are. And if they don’t step up to meet us, then they might not be the one for us.
