When to Say Yes & When to Say No This Holiday Season

The holiday season can feel overwhelming and rushed so make sure you’re doing what you really want to do

Shopping, baking, decorating, wrapping, cooking, celebrating… there’s so much to do this time of year. Some of it is tons of fun and some of it is… not so much. But one thing is for sure: we feel obligated to do it all.

But not only do you not have to do it all, there isn’t enough time, money, or energy to do it all (for most of us, anyway). So instead of trying to do everything, try this list instead. It’s got three things you need to say no to and three to give a big, resounding yes to this holiday season.

Say yes to the kids helping you

Whether they’re the tiniest tot or a teen, let the kids help. Maybe the decorations or wrapping won’t look picture perfect, or parts of the big dinner will be a little burnt, but the kids will cherish those memories of getting to help out. And you’ll feel so much better not having to try to do it all on your own.

And remember this: if a little one helps out in a way that really presents a problem, you can always go back and fix the problem later. But it’s not as easy to fix their tiny broken heart because you said no to their…
