I’ve been meditating consistently for the last seven or eight years, give or take. I’ve meditated inconsistently for about 20 years. It was something I picked up when I was a young mother in an unhappy marriage. I used meditation to try to find peace and happiness in my marriage. What it offered me instead was the truth about my marriage — probably the reason I was so inconsistent with it; I didn’t want to see the truth yet.

Though meditation has been around for thousands of years, it’s only now that meditation is becoming mainstream. Even the conservative medical community is singing the praises of meditation.
