The One Who Got Away? Girl, Please!
Trust me, you didn’t miss much
Shortly after my divorce in late 2003, I remember a period where I wistfully looked back on my previous relationships. I wondered if one of those guys was “the one who got away.” The man I should have been with but had let go — or been let go by him.
Back then, I was a busy single mom of two and social media hadn’t taken off quite yet. So it wasn’t as easy to look someone up as it is today. This allowed my imagination to really take flight with visions of how wonderful my life would be if I’d just ended up with him… or him… or the other him.
But now I’m in my 40s. And social media has made it super easy to find old boyfriends — or for them to find you. So I want to help out the younger women who might be glancing back at an ex and wondering if he’s the one who got away.
Trust me, he’s not.
