That’s an interesting perspective. I agree that love is powerful, but I tend to think that it’s not love that’s untrustworthy, but ourselves. I think that we stop trusting ourselves and let love do what it wants. I imagine it as similar to a dog on a leash. You can let the dog (love) drag you along, taking you where it wants when it wants regardless of your own wishes, or you can hold tight to the leash, take control and make the dog (love) go where you want.

So when we see that a relationship (or a person) isn’t what we want, we should trust ourselves enough to know that what we do want is still out there and walking away from what we don’t want isn’t going to leave us lonely and abandoned.
