Whether your relationship is still pretty new or you’ve been together for a decade or two, no one ever wants to think their relationship could end. And for many, the mere mention of the words “couples counselor” can inspire anxiety, anger, or frustration.

The idea of visiting a couples counselor is often associated with having trouble. And many people wait until their relationship is having significant problems before they visit a counselor. But there are plenty of reasons to see a couples counselor, and not all of them include being on the verge of a split.

Here are several reasons you might see a couples counselor — some good, some bad. Either way, the end result could be a stronger, healthier, and happier relationship.
