Need a Day Off? Try These 7 Ideas for Rejuvenation
If you feel like you need a mental health day, make it worthwhile by doing these seven things.
We all take them. We get stressed, exhausted, frustrated, or feel ready to quit our job. So we decide it’s time for a mental health day, call in sick, and stay home. But how you spend that time can make a huge difference in whether you return to work the next day feeling rejuvenated or only mildly less annoyed.
If you spend the day thinking about the reasons you’re stressed, exhausted and frustrated, you definitely won’t feel better. You also won’t feel better if you spend it doing household chores.
But if you engage in these seven activities, you’ll find that your mental health day leaves you feeling refreshed when it’s time to go back to work.
Plan for it
Don’t wait until the day of and call in sick. It’s not the best way to start a day meant to make you feel good. You’ll still have to get up in order to call in, and it’ll start your day thinking about work.
