Meditation: Is It Better To Take a Class or DIY It?
There are lots of options for meditating, from classes to apps, but what’s the best way to meditate?
Newbies to meditation can feel overwhelmed by all the options. There are choices to make about everything, from what kind of meditation to do to how long to do it. But one of the biggest questions is often: should I take a class?
Classes are one of several options, and the decision depends on many factors. Let’s take a look at all your choices and figure out which one might be best for you.
Taking a meditation class
A meditation class, sometimes known as a group meditation, is several people gathered together in the same space and engaged in the same meditation. Sometimes you can take an online class, but it’s typically an in-person class. It’s led by a meditation teacher.
Depending on the teacher, a single class might be held daily, weekly or monthly. They may have multiple classes on different schedules, covering several kinds of meditation. Classes may be paid or on a donations-only basis, and the same teacher may have the same class at multiple yoga or wellness studios in your area.
