After being out of the dating game for a while, I decided a few months ago to get back into it. Since I work from home, I chose online dating as my opt-in for meeting men. I figured it’s low-risk, low-investment, and since I can read profiles and message with men to get to know them before meeting them, high-reward.

Meat Loaf once tried to persuade me with his powerful voice and passionate song that two out of three ain’t bad. I didn’t buy it then and I don’t buy it now.

As it turns out, online dating is low-risk and low-investment. But it’s also low-reward and, so far, low-quality.

Hey Sexy

Those two words are the ones one recent match tried to hook me with. I would’ve have rolled my eyes at them under any circumstances, but it especially disappointed me on this occasion.

You see, my name is right there on my profile.

Right next to my picture.

You know, the picture he looked at and decided I was sexy in.

So he was aware and attentive enough to decide I was sexy and he wanted to connect with me, but not aware and attentive enough to look half an inch to the right and see my name written there in big, bold, black text…
