It’s Time to Align Your Actions with Your Words

All talk and no action makes for a stagnant life — and who wants that?

AActions speak louder than words.

It’s a phrase we say often. Usually we’re telling someone that they aren’t living up to the promises they’ve made to us. But there’s another meaning behind them and it’s self-directed.

We all have things we say we want to do. But if all we do is say we want to do them, it’s not getting us anywhere. Actions speak louder than words means if we want to do something, we have to stop just talking about it and start doing things that bring us closer to doing that thing.

But it’s not just doing things. It’s also when we say things like that we want to be more patient or we care about the environment or animal rights. If we only talk about it and don’t ensure that our actions line up with what we’re saying (by actively trying to be more patient or making sure we drive a car that’s more environmentally-friendly, for example), then we’re not in alignment.

Actions take energy

Words are easy to speak. They’re so lightweight, they can float on the breath. And once spoken, they can be whisked away by a breeze, forgotten entirely in a matter of moments.
