Parenthood is a tough gig. The only training is on-the-job. It’s a job you can’t quit if you decide you can’t hack it. And it’s a job where lives can literally be at stake if you make a mistake. That’s a lot of pressure.

That pressure can cause you to doubt yourself and lack confidence. Knowing that even a simple mistake might screw your kids up for life can make you second-guess every decision you make. And yet, that kind of hesitation and second thoughts is what could lead to those mistakes.

We all want to know how to be a good mom. How to be a good parent. I say the answer to that is to be a confident mom.

But how exactly can you be a confident mom? How do you turn your doubts, confusion, and lack of knowledge into confidence?

Trust yourself

Many new moms have heard about maternal instinct and expect it to kick in. When they feel like they’re drowning, completely uncertain of what to do and that instinct doesn’t seem to be kicking in, they can quickly lose whatever confidence they had.
