Hey Dad! Here’s Your Pregnancy Advice

Most pregnancy advice is geared toward Mom. It makes sense, since she is the one carrying the baby. But Dad could probably use some advice too. After all, we do expect him to support Mom as she goes through the pregnancy, right?

But since he’s not the one carrying the baby, what advice can we give him? It turns out, there’s quite a bit.

1st Trimester

Keep it simple in the kitchen

Lack of appetite, bloating, morning sickness…this isn’t the time to get fancy in the kitchen, Dad.

Cooking for her is a wonderful, thoughtful way to support Mom in the early days of pregnancy. Particularly if she’s really struggling with morning sickness that is more like all-day sickness, she’ll appreciate not having to cook or look at ingredients like raw meat.

But lots of spices and seasonings, or introducing exotic ingredients, won’t impress her right now. In fact, it’s likely to be unwelcome. When she’s still trying…
