We’ve all had that one relationship. The one that wasn’t really a relationship because the other person didn’t really want to be in a relationship. But they said they did. They insisted they did.

But when someone doesn’t really want to be in a relationship, there are signs. No matter what words come out of their mouths, if you see these signs, you’ll know they don’t really want to be in a relationship.

You don’t see or hear from them for days on end

In a real relationship, you would hear from your partner daily. There might be times when there’s a skipped day or two. I mean, we all have emergencies, long days at work, or other things that come up.

But when someone is lying about wanting a relationship, they won’t be in touch consistently. They’ll call you when they think about it — usually when they’re bored, nothing else is going on, or they can’t find anyone else to talk to. You’re an afterthought.

You won’t see them often, either. Many of your dates (if they can even be called that) will be last minute plans made immediately before getting together.
