Ah yes, we have to be so careful about dating for potential rather than reality. That’s why I believe discussing important stuff early on is so important. Whether it’s being honest about your desire to have (or not have, if that’s the case) children, wanting to get married, or even your future plans to start a business or travel the world, I think being clear on where your priorities are can help weed out those we aren’t truly compatible with before we get too invested.
