GGetting divorced when you have kids is complicated. And the complications don’t end when the divorce is final. One of the biggest complications is figuring out what boundaries to draw and where to draw them.

When it comes to dating, it can get more than a little confusing. Your romantic life is none of your ex’s concern now that you’ve split up. But when you get serious with someone and introduce them to your kids, your ex will likely find out — and might have something to say about it.

So the questions begin even before you start dating. And they’re endless. Do you need to tell your ex you’re dating? Should you introduce your ex to a new partner before you introduce the kids? What if your ex only pays child support and barely sees the kids? What if your ex doesn’t make the same decision you do? Can you put it in the court order?

There are no easy answers but there are a few things you can weigh before making a decision.

What does include mean?
