9 Ways to Reinvent Yourself After a Painful Breakup

I remember my last breakup pretty clearly, even though it was a few years ago now. I’d always been the kind of woman who said I would never, ever color my hair crazy colors. But there I stood, a few days after the split, with a new tattoo on my forearm and a box of green hair color in one hand and a box of purple in the other.

I chose the green.

And it was fun and exciting to change my hair. It took my mind off the breakup, made me feel new and different, and gave me a confidence boost.

Breakups can be painful. But the pain of a breakup can serve a positive purpose: it can be the catalyst to reinventing yourself. After a breakup, you have new-found free time and the motivation to make a change.

How do you go about making a positive change?

Consider these ideas:

1. Find a healthy weight. There’s a tendency for many to indulge their grief with ice cream or other empty calories. This can lead to weight gain, whether minor or insignificant. But why not go the other way?
