9 Ways to Find Happiness Despite a Persistent Bad Mood
If you feel like it’s been years since you’ve been happy, these tricks might turn things around for you
Happiness is a decision for most of us. We all know that there are brain chemicals that, for one reason or another, can be off and cause a variety of issues that make us unhappy. But I’m not a therapist or a doctor so I can’t address those issues here. What I am addressing here is for those who feel just a general unhappiness and wish it was different.
Before we go further, I will say this: If you’ve been feeling unhappy for a while, it’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor and make sure everything is okay. Get some bloodwork done, maybe even meet with a therapist a time or two, and get the all clear that there’s nothing going on that needs to be addressed. And if something is going on, do what you need to do to feel better, including taking medication if prescribed.
Assuming you’ve done that and gotten the all clear, you might feel frustrated that you just don’t seem to be happy. You might even look around you at your life and all the people you love and the things you have and wonder how you could be unhappy.
