9 New Holiday Family Traditions You Can Try This Year
Whether you’re replacing an activity due to divorce or social distancing, these ideas are fun for the whole family
Every family has their own traditions. Some you can see across generations, like the way everyone gathered at my grandparents’ home for Christmas day for years before they passed. And others are unique to your own little family unit, limited to the people who live in your home, like having Chinese food for Christmas Eve dinner.
But when you get divorced, sometimes your family traditions get upended. Something you’ve done for years suddenly feels weird because it was your ex’s idea. Or it includes your ex’s family so you know your ex will be doing it.
Creating new holiday traditions doesn’t have to be complicated. All you need to do is find something that your whole family enjoys and that you’re willing to do again year after year.
Okay, so maybe it’s a little complicated.
But that’s why I’ve got a few ideas for you to consider before you try to reinvent the wheel.
