As a single parent, it can be hard to keep the bond with your children solid. You’re working and they’re in school or daycare. If your ex is an involved parent, you’re sharing time with them which means there are days or weeks at a time where you don’t see your kiddos.

Feeling disconnected from your kids can lead to lots of other feelings: anxiety, guilt, sadness, loss, even anger. But even with limited time, budgets, and a plate full of responsibilities, you can bring that bond back and make it stronger than ever.

Explore some nature trails

Nature is an excellent way of bonding with kids. In the great outdoors, it’s hard for anyone to feel trapped or confined, even if they were feeling reluctant to participate in some family time. Exploring local nature trails is a great way to bond because it gives you plenty of time to talk (unlike watching a movie, for example) and it also offers you things to talk about.
