We’re not looking for a new parent for our kids
I’ve had more than one date with someone who believed that dating me meant he had to be a father to my kids. The fact that my kids’ actual father removed himself from their lives may contribute to this idea, but I know other single parents who’ve had the same experience and their ex is very present.
It does not matter if we are widowed, co-parenting peacefully with our ex, raising our kids with no help from the ex, or deliberately chose to become a solo parent, we are not looking for someone to play Mommy or Daddy to our children.
