Depression affects approximately 17 million adults per year, and 1.9 million kids. More than simply feeling sad, depression saps your energy and makes you feel hopeless. When you’re stuck in the middle of a depressive episode, it can feel like there’s no way out.

Self-care isn’t a magic pill that will instantly cure your depression. But it can be a start toward feeling better. But when you feel like you can’t even take a shower, how do you find the energy for self-care?

I suggest starting with these simple, easy self-care tricks. Work your way from the ones that feel easiest to the ones that feel more difficult.
