5 Ways to Make the Weekends Different When You’re Always Home

II work from home and homeschool my kids. When the kids were younger, we got out frequently for park days, field trips and other events. Now that it’s only my youngest and our homeschool community isn’t active, combined with the pandemic and numbers still rising where we live, we spend a lot of time at home these days.

Truth be told, some days I only know what day of the week and date it is because my phone tells me. Weekends aren’t much different than weekdays. It would be so easy to slip into the habit of working through the weekend or to treat weekdays like the weekend and not be as productive as I could be.

That’s why I think it’s important that we find ways to make the weekends feel a little different. Of course, a few months ago, I’d have suggested doing fun things like going out to listen to live music, have a few drinks, head to the beach, or see a movie.

But depending on where you are, those might not be options yet. Or maybe money is a little tight and you want to do things that don’t cost a lot. Or maybe you’re just a bit of a homebody (no judgment, I am…
