5 Ways to Connect with Your Date on a Heart Level

Real connections don’t come from worrying about second dates and what they think of you

DDating is hard, isn’t it? You want to find your true love, a lasting relationship, a real connection, but it’s such a struggle.

You’ve had incredible first dates that didn’t lead to a second date. You’ve gone out a dozen times with someone great and really thought there was potential there only to have them ghost you. You met someone who was basically another version of you, with so much in common and so many of the same desires — but then they said they just didn’t see a future with you.

What gives?

We all ultimately want the same thing. It looks different for everyone, from casual physical relationships to lasting love-filled marriages, but it’s all the same thing. We all want connection.

We want to connect with another person. We want to feel a bond with them.

The problem is we go about it too logically. We think it’s all about common interests, shared values, and wanting the same things from our future. And it is about those things, but not entirely.

And not necessarily at first.
