As a solo mom, I know how hard it is to carve out time for ourselves. While it does get a little easier as kids start to get older, it’s never easy. And even when we find time, getting past the mom guilt can be rough. That’s why I came up with this list of 10 simple ways you can engage in self-care.
This list was designed for the mom who has no backup. But it can be used by any mom, and even by dads, single or married. The key to this list is that you don’t need a sitter, and you don’t even need to be alone.

Take a deep breath (or five!)
Stress makes us breathe much more shallowly and quickly. And what solo mom isn’t under stress all the time? But your breath impacts everything else. Simply by changing the way you breathe, you can change your mood, calm yourself, and even fall asleep more easily.
